



Joint Center for Educational Development and Advancement
in Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment
The Joint Centre for Educational Development and Advancement in Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment (Joint Centre) is a collaborative initiative between Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and The Education University of Hong Kong. The establishment of the Joint Centre was formally announced on 13 August 2025 in Brunei.
The announcement was witnessed by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Chancellor of UBD and His Royal Highness Prince (Dr) Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, Pro-Chancellor of UBD.
The Centre is dedicated to advancing innovative educational research and strengthening regional collaboration. Its core functions include promoting joint research in curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment; facilitating academic and student exchanges between Hong Kong and Brunei; and supporting the Brunei Ministry of Education in raising national education standards. With a forward-looking vision, the Centre further aims to extend its influence across ASEAN and Belt and Road countries, positioning Brunei as a dynamic hub for education and development.
